Marek and Malgoshia are building a house outside Warsaw in a forested area. There are squirrels. Their house is not quite finished, no hot water, but it is going to be great, and much better than the standard urban apartment.
This is a very different experience, and a welcome relief for weary culture vultures. Next day we all go for a long walk around the village
and through an old youth camp, abandoned since communist times. Malgoshia tells us she had been there as a child. A stretch of a river is dammed by a weir and there is a kind of cable powered waterski arrangement.
After this sylvan interlude, we are off again to Kraków.
